An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
The old saying is true when it comes to Sudden Cardiac Death.
So the Minneota School District took it upon themselves to hold a preventive screening last Thursday.
One out of 300 young people have an undetected heart condition.
The testing included limited Echocardiogram, health history, blood pressure check and review by a local board certified pediatric cardiologist.
About 9,500 youth are affected annual and 95 percent of victims die.
The event is part of screening-America with the goal of, “On a mission to save lives.”
