Canby-Minneota Sensations Jazz team performed at the 3A Sections on Saturday including Merissa Traen of Minneota.

Sensations show well in Sectionals

The Canby-Minneota Sensations Dance Team competed Saturday in Montevideo in the Section 3A Dance Competition.

Although neither the Jazz or Kick teams qualified for state, both got high marks and competed well.

Advancing to state were:

Jazz:

2. Yellow Medicine East Silhouettes

3. BOLD Warriors

4. Montevideo Gold Dusters

Kick

Other teams competing were: Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa/Paynesville Pirouettes; Lakeview Mystiques; MACCRAY; Minnewaska Lakers; New London-Spicer Blackcats; Renville County West Jaguars; Sleepy Eye Spirit in Motion; St. James Saintettes; Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers; Wabasso Dazzlers and the Worthington Trojans.

The 2019 State Girls' Dance Team tournament will be held Friday and Saturday, Feburary 15 and 16 at Target Center. The Jazz Team compeition will be on Friday with qualifying and final competitions, starting at 11:30 a.m. for Class A Qualifying Competition.

The High Kick will be held Saturday, February 16 with the qualifying competition for Class A starting at 11:30 a.m.

The Canby-Minneota Sensations are coached by Jordyn Stutelberg and assisted by Taylor Campbell and Madlyn Sagedahl.

The Jazz team danced to, "If I Didn't Go," with captains Stephanie Birk, Kameron King and Avery Lokken.

The Kick team danced to, "Dancing Through the Decades," with captains Birk, Zoe DeBoer, King and Lokken.
