TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS LIFTED
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Minnesota State Patrol have lifted no travel advisories from most state highways. Visibility has improved in these areas, however, roads are completely snow and ice covered so motorists are advised to reduce speeds and drive according to conditions.
No travel advisories have been lifted from state highways in the following areas:
· Western and southern portions of Chippewa County
· Kandiyohi County – east and south of Blomkest
· Lac qui Parle County
· Lincoln County
· Lyon County
· Murray County
· Pipestone County
· Redwood County
· Yellow Medicine County
No travel is advised on state highways in the following areas. Motorists are advised not to travel in these areas until conditions improve:
· Meeker/Renville County – Highway 4, Cosmos to Hector
· McLeod County/Renville County – U.S. Highway 212, Hector to Glencoe
A Blizzard Warning is in effect until 7:00 a.m. on Friday. Conditions may improve at times, but may also worsen at times. We could enact no travel advisories and road closures again as conditions warrant. Please be aware of the weather forecast and use www.511mn.org before making travel plans.
