LaVonn Alleckson, 75, of Minneota, died on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota after a valiant struggle with an inoperable brain tumor.
The funeral service for LaVonn will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 18 at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
Interment will take place at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Minneota.
LaVonn Alleckson was born on January 29, 1942, in Granite Falls, MN, to Leonard and Leona.
She grew up on a farm near Boyd, MN.
On February 6, 1958, she was united in marriage to Robert Alleckson at Hope Lutheran Church.
The couple made their home and raised their family in Minneota.
LaVonn worked at several jobs including doing the bookwork for Bob’s Milk Route, Gislason’s Hardware, the Drug Store, and for more than 30 years worked at the Minneota Manor.
LaVonn loved flowers and gardening. She was very creative and enjoyed making floral arrangements and participating in Minneota’s Iris Festival.
She also had exceptional penmanship. LaVonn enjoyed baking many delicacies for her friends and family. She also enjoyed her many pet cats.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, of Minneota; children Julie (and Larry) Rosenow of Prescott, WI, Tom (and Sandy) Alleckson of Denver, CO, Eric (and Jennifer) Alleckson of Rochester; grandson Zachary (and Britta) Rosenow, great-grandson Soren, granddaughter Ashley (and Mike) Bell, great-grandson Silas, granddaughter Alissa (and Jesse) Godding, granddaughter Autumn (and Max) Weinhold, granddaughter Arianna (and Cody) Jones, grandson Jonah Alleckson and granddaughter Kate Alleckson and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Prairie Home Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
