Minneota boys subdue Canby

For the fourth straight game, the Minneota Vikings looked like a run-away train — leaving everything in its path far behind.
They ran their record to 4-0 with a 68-35 win over Canby. In those first four games they’ve outscored opponents 301 to 151 or on the average, 72-38.
If it weren’t for running time — it may have been worse.
The Vikings aren’t used to such one-sided scores when playing Canby.
But Friday they got 26 points, six of 11 shooting from three-point range; seven rebounds; five assists and three steals from Thomas Hennen.
His cousin Isaac Hennen also pitched in with a good night, collecting 11 points with four rebounds and a pair of steals.
And center Logan Sussner did his part, pitching in with 14 points, including three-of-three from the free throw line and a team-leading 10 rebounds.
Minneota ran up a powerful 53-22 halftime lead, then simply hung on throughout the second half.
The Vikings shot 43 percent, while Canby, which got a team-leading eight points from Zach Durfee, hit just 21 percent and was one of 16 from three-point range.
Minneota out-rebounded the Lancers, 33-23, including 22 rebounds on the defensive side of the ball.

Minneota will play at 7:30 p.m. Monday at home against Lakeview in a showdown of two of the Camden Conference's best teams.
