United Way to Offer Poverty Simulation
While difficult to comprehend, poverty is a reality for many individuals, seniors and families. On October 11, United Way of Southwest Minnesota will host a “Poverty Simulation”, designed to help individuals better understand poverty by stepping into the real-life situations of others struggling with, and living in, poverty.
The event will be held at the National Guard Armory in Marshall.
This is the first simulation being conducted by the United Way with plans to continue offering additional simulations in the future.
Community leaders, business leaders and school administrators will be among some of the first participants.
The simulation is designed to demonstrate to those who have enough to truly understand the situations that families living in poverty experience every day, the decisions they have to make, and the fears and frustrations they feel.
For more information or to inquire about a future simulation, please call United Way at 507-929-2273 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
