Free “Maybe a Baby” Event for Prospective Parents on Feb. 20
Couples considering parenthood are invited to a “Maybe a Baby” event at Avera Marshall on Tuesday, Feb. 20 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
This free event allows attendees to talk one-on-one with physicians and other health care professionals to help them feel more prepared for the challenges, commitments and rewards of becoming a parent. Gaining health information now can help potential parents can make decisions to benefit the health of both mother and baby, and prepare in other ways with opportunities to learn about:
Successful pregnancy planning
Nutrition and healthy living
Pain management during labor
“It’s good for prospective parents to know what they can do to optimize a pregnancy before they ever conceive. For example, it’s good to start taking a prenatal vitamin three months before you start trying to have a baby,” said Dr. Susan Okoniewski, Avera Medical Group Obstetrics & Gynecology said. “Ultimately, our goal is healthy moms, healthy babies and healthy families.”
In addition to visiting with experts, participants can tour the labor and delivery unit, enjoy refreshments and receive free gifts.
This free event will be held at Avera Marshall’s Physicians Office Building at 300 South Bruce Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. Registration is available at Avera.org/maybeababy.
